When is it too much?

I love simplicity and encourage my students to follow, but what if that isn't enough?  I secretly love working with glitter and feathers, especially glitter glue and feather boas.  After all, they are now contained.  The glitter is in the glue, therefore, no fairy dust all over the place.  And feather boas are woven on a piece of cotton twine, oh the better to use them!  Please excuse my silliness, I am in prime puppet making mode.  I'm getting ready to display them for the first time, in public, and I hope to sell them.  My puppets are morphing in to delightful, fushia and turquoise creatures that are textural and silly.  Not sure if I will completely abandon my simplistic philosophy, but it sure is fun!
